==History==
The PlayOn! Sports Network began as a division of Turner Broadcasting and Time Warner, Inc. The company launched in August 2006 and primarily focused on producing and digitally streaming collegiate sporting events. In 2008, the company was purchased by David Rudolph, Buckhead Investment Partners and Imlay Investments in a spin out from Turner Broadcasting. The tipping point for focusing on high school sports came in early 2009 when the group produced a webcast of a Georgia state wrestling championship. The company anticipated limited viewership, but more than 100,000 people tuned in. Today, PlayOn! is the largest high school sports media company, producing over 50,000 high school events annually.〔http://www.prweb.com/releases/2010/08/prweb4332834.htm〕
In partnership with over 42 State High School Athletic Associations, PlayOn! manages the NFHS Network (www.NFHSnetwork.com ), where fans can view a wide variety of high school sporting events, including playoff games, state championships and other games of interest. PlayOn! also works with over 1,300 high schools to produce and distribute additional regular-season games. The NFHS Network offers subscriptions to customers who wish to view the live and on-demand streamed content.
PlayOn! Sports includes six operating divisions: the NFHS Network, School Broadcast Program (SBP), Digital Scout, PlayOn! Sports Properties, PlayOn! Sports Technology and PlayOn! Sports Productions.
